2019 - 2020 SEASON EVENTS
WMCC summer season opening day for 2019/20 is Saturday 14 September. Our Patrons, Mayor Justin Lester and Paul Eagle, MP for Rongotai will join us to run the first summer hoop, present trophies and share celebrations and lunch. All members are welcome - the golf croquet draw will be played as usual Saturday morning and guests join us at 12.30. Samples of our new centenary clothing range for order will be available. We’ll also capture all attendees in the centenary photograph.
Free croquet lessons for new players start on Sunday 15 September 2019 and run for four weeks. Players of all ages are welcome to come and try golf croquet. Lessons with our top coaches will be on Sunday mornings 9.30 - 12 and Tuesday afternoons 1 - 3.30 from 15 September to 8 October (except 22 September). Come along to Sunday or Tuesday lessons or both. Register on the Club answerphone (04) 389 7071 or just come along 15 minutes before start time on the day. Mallets, balls and tuition are all provided free.
Centenary celebrations - WMCC 1919 - 2019
Our main weekend for Centenary celebration is 14 & 15 March 2020. On Saturday 14 we’ll start hold short, fun croquet competitions for present and past members and guests, followed by a catered cocktail party on the lawns. On Sunday we’ll keep the conversations going with a casual lunch at the Club, open to all present and past members. Events will be by invitation so we will be contacting past members during September. If you’re a past member but don’t hear from us, please email email@example.com with your details and we’ll be in touch. Other centenary events, including a tournament, will be added as they are finalised.
The 2019/2020 programme of events and tournaments for all Wellington region croquet clubs is available now on the Wellington Croquet Association website.
