Opening Day 2020
The Club officially opened for the Summer Season on Saturday 12th September. The weather smiled on us and we were able to hold the entire event outside. No problems with the Level 2 social distancing requirements, which was fortunate given the large turnout of members.
Our Patron Paul Eagle, MP for Rongotai, ran the first hoop for the Summer Season , and presented trophies for the competitions from last season that were actually completed.
It is worth noting that Paul kept his head down, focused on the ball and ran the hoop first time with style - a lesson to us all!
The Trophy presentation was also managed a bit differently this year. Winners picked up their trophy from the display area, and posed for a photo with Paul Eagle - no handshakes, no multiple handling of trophies, just big smiles and well deserved congratulations.
Our “Al Fresco” lunch was a huge success with members as usual contributing large amounts of delicious food.
