WCC v Parliament Challenge Match
On 17th April City Councillors and Members of Parliament took to the lawns for their annual challenge match. At stake - lots of pride and the Charles Jones Challenge Cup.
In Match 1 WCC team members Andy Foster and Diane Calvert outclassed MPs Paul Eagle and Ibrahim Omer 4 - 0. Diane had already intimidated the field by arriving with her own mallet and showed that she certainly knows how to use it.
Match 2 was closely fought being 2 - 2 at full time. The golden hoop was a drawn out and tense affair eventually won by MPs Greg O’Connor and Ayesha Verrall defeating Sarah Free and Sean Rush.
With one match each the Challenge was decided by a shoot out at the peg - won by WCC courtesy of Sean Rush getting closest.
